Personal Brief
The idea must solve a problem: wastage of water. The product
should be designed for multi-functional use with a modern design
aesthetic. The environment or atmosphere should be appropriate to
fit in a kitchen or workspace, this is so it is easily accessible. The
product must ensure a mechanism to filter the water so its clean,
and efficient to use without much hassle to assemble as well.

products on the page to generate a product idea. I will then
use the images to understand what I can potentially use in
my product such as design, colour, shape etc.

Analysis:

These images are of kitchen dish racks, the reason for this is
because the client wants the product to be placed in the
kitchen. The brief wants a product to save or make a product
which utilizes water. So, making a dishrack will intertwine
both ideas. I have collected some images which I can use for
my design ideas. From this, I have concluded that plastic,
metal and wood in this order would be the best fit for my
product. A green colour scheme will also help due to the
client liking and it can give a coherent theme to the product.
Also, adding curved features or designs to the product will
make it looks modern and be able to fit into environments.

Evaluation
The client profile page has helped me understand what
existing products look like. The products I researched were
relevant to my design brief which means I can further
explore into them later on to understand how they satisfy
their customers. Looking at some of the product designs, I
have concluded that including curved shapes with light
colour tones looks pleasant to view.
Research Introduction
On this page, I will need to consider what my product needs so I can research existing
Plan products online. The reason why I will need to research is so I can get inspiration, evaluate
products and manipulate features that existing products have into my product. This will
ensure that my product is innovative and can be made as previous products do. Some
research point I may conclude are aesthetics, materials, safety, ergonomics, cost, size etc.

to place dishes then he can in the centre.
The 2 plant pots at the front can be taken
out as well as the two filters inside the pot.
A consumer can take away the two cutlery
pots to either wash or replace. Now what is
left is the rack which can be pulled. Then
take out the silicon tray to wash out. Finally,
there is an inner plastic piece which gathers
the rest of the component. The clever
mechanism to this design is how each
feature interlocks with each other. They all
