Project PPT Group-4
Indian Railways, spanning 115,000 km, faces critical safety challenges due to human errors in
railway crossings, track cracks, and fire hazards.
To address these issues, our project introduces automation in railway operations. An automated
railway gate system using IR sensors and a motorized mechanism enhances efficiency by
reducing accidents and delays.
Additionally, track crack detection is improved through a wired network that identifies breaks,
immediately alerts authorities via SMS, and provides GPS-based location updates on an IoT
platform for real-time monitoring.
This ensures prompt maintenance and prevents integrated to identify potential hazards in real time. Upon detection, automatic alerts are
sent to railway authorities, ensuring quick response and minimizing damage. By combining railway derailments. To further enhance railway
safety, fire and smoke detection sensors are gate automation, track monitoring, and fire detection, this system significantly improves safety,
reduces human intervention, and ensures smooth railway operations with timely maintenance.

WORKING PRINCIPAL
The Automatic Railway Safety System detects fire, smoke, and track cracks, triggering alarm-driven events to ensure
passenger safety. When a fire is detected, the system activates a motor-controlled braking mechanism or chain-pulling
system, stopping the train to prevent further damage. A buzzer alerts nearby passengers to take precautionary actions, and
an SMS is sent to railway authorities for quick response and evacuation measures.
Additionally, the system integrates track crack detection using IoT, GPS, and GSM modules. If a crack is detected, an
LED and buzzer activate, and the system sends real-time location data to railway authorities for immediate track
maintenance. Cloud integration enables remote monitoring and automated alerts, ensuring efficient railway infrastructure
management.
This microcontroller and sensor-based system provides a robust, automated railway safety mechanism, preventing fire-
related hazards and railway accidents caused by track cracks.

CONCLUSION
The automation of the railway fire detection system is used in this project to enhance safety and prevent accidents.
Fires on railway tracks and trains can cause significant damage and loss of life. Automating fire detection ensures quick
response and minimizes risks. We've created a low-cost, low-power embedded system that improves railway safety by
detecting fires in real-time. The IoT-based fire detection device quickly identifies fire hazards and sends the location
via GSM to the appropriate department for immediate action.
Advantages:
A combination of manual wireless control and sensor-based detection can enhance operational efficiency.
The system can be implemented more efficiently by incorporating a more advanced sensor network.
