FARADAY’S LAWS OF INDUCTION
Faraday's First Law
Any change in the magnetic field of a coil
will cause an emf to be induced in the coil.
This emf induced is called induced emf
and if the conductor circuit is closed, the
current will also circulate through the
circuit and this current is called induced
current.
Faraday's Second Law
It states that the magnitude of emf
induced in the coil is equal to the rate of
change of flux linkage with the coil. The
flux linkage of the coil is the product of
number of turns in the coil and flux
associated with the coil.

CONSTRUCTION
CONSISTS OF TWO MAIN PARTS

1. STATOR
2.ROTOR
BASIC DESIGN TYPES

SQUIRREL CAGE ROTOR

APPLICATIONS
SIMPLE DESIGN,LOW-
COST,EASY MAINTENANCE
WIDE RANGE OF POWER
RATINGS
GOOD SPEED
REGULATION
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Rotating Magnetic Field(RMF) is set up in
the stator when a 3-phase supply is given
The stationary rotor cuts the RMF and due
to electro magnetic induction an emf is
induced in the rotor conductor
As the rotor conductor is short circuited,
current flows through them
It becomes a current carrying conductor in
magnetic field and starts rotating
