Formatting
Text
• Formatting Text in Microsoft Word refers to controlling how text appears in your document.
• This includes the Size, Color, and Font of the text. It also covers Text Alignment, Spacing,
Highlight, and Letter Case.
• For Formatting Text we will use most of the Commands in the Home tab.

2. On the Home tab, click the Font size drop-down arrow. Select a font size from the
menu.

• Your color choices aren't limited to the drop-down menu that appears. Select More Colors at the
bottom of the menu to access the Colors dialog box. Choose the color you want, then click OK.

• The Bold, Italic, and Underline commands can be used to help draw attention to
important words or phrases.

• To use the Bold, Italic, and Underline commands:

the center or right.

• Paragraph Spacing: just as you can format spacing between lines in your document, you can
adjust spacing before and after paragraphs.
• In our example, we'll increase the space before each paragraph to separate them a bit more. This
will make it a little easier to read.
