Measurement is the

Examples: Measuring the height of

Conversion is the
process of changing one
unit of measurement to
another while
maintaining the same
quantity.
Conversion helps us use
appropriate units in different

What Are Kilometers,
Meters, Centimeters, and
Millimeters?
Kilometers are used to
measure long distances, such

Meters are used to measure
medium-sized objects like the
height of a person, the length
of a room, or a swimming pool.
It was written as “m.”
1 meter = 100 centimeters.
Centimeters are used for small
objects like pencils, notebooks,
and mobile phones.
It was written as “cm.”
1 centimeter = 10 millimeters.
Millimeters are used for very
small objects like the thickness
of a credit card, the width of a
paperclip, or the size of a grain
of rice.
It was written as “mm.”
