SAMAR BSECE 2-A STATE
UNIVERSITY
ABSTRACT
Universities worldwide provide free access to Wi-Fi inside its
campus for the students to use, academically and non-academic.
However, it is important for students to understand how Wi-Fi
works, focusing on its advantages and disadvantages. The study
examines university Wi-Fi usage, highlighting platform preferences,
academic vs. non-academic use, PEC compliance, and network
performance. Findings show frequent use of educational tools
alongside social media. Connectivity issues include poor access
point placement, congestion, and weak signals. Screen time
correlates with usage patterns, emphasizing the need to optimize
network infrastructure and ensure PEC compliance.
