ABSTRACT
 This presents an innovative Traffic management system to optimize urban
transportation networks.
 The proposed system including sensors, and connected vehicles, to collect
real-time data on traffic conditions
 The system dynamically adjusts traffic signals according to Density.
 The implementation of Traffic management system demonstrates
significant potential in controlling traffic congestion.
 This abstract covers the key aspects of Traffic management system,
including real-time analysis, dynamic traffic control.
INTRODUCTON

 Traffic controlling and road safety are major issues in cities around the
world.
 Traditional ways of managing traffic often can't keep up with the growing
number of vehicles and the complexity of urban roads.
 Traffic system management offers a new way to tackle these problems by
using smart devices to gather and analyze real-time traffic data.
 These devices collect data on things like traffic jams, and environmental
factors .

PROBLEM STATEMENT
 The rapid and exponential increase number of vehicles on the road is
leading to significant traffic congestion and related problems.
OBJECTIVES
 If the traffic density crosses the specified threshold on a road, the system
stops the normal operation and keeps the Green light ON till the situation
on the road became normal.
 To interface the IR Sensor to CPLD kit for detection of the vehicle near
the sensor.
 To interface the LED to CPLD kit for output status signal by making it ON
or OFF.

METHODOLOGY
1. Define the System Requirement:

 Determine what traffic parameters need to measure (e.g., vehicle presence, vehicle count).

 Decide the number of traffic lanes or intersections will manage with the system.

 Identify the output actions required (e.g., changing traffic light signals).

2. Select and Position IR Sensors:

 IR Sensors: Choose appropriate IR sensors (e.g., proximity sensors or reflective sensors)

based on application.

 Positioning: Place IR sensors at strategic locations. For example: Two sensors per lane to
detect vehicle presence, And Position sensors across the road to detect traffic flow.
3. Set Up CPLD kit
 Hardware: Connect the IR sensors to the CPLD kit

 Wiring: Connect the IR sensor’s output pins to the digital input pins on the CPLD kit.

 Power: Ensure proper power supply to the sensors and the CPLD kit.

 Software: Verilog code to read the sensor values.

4. Process Sensor Data:

 Data Interpretation: Use the sensor data to determine the presence of vehicles and their
movement.

5. Implement Traffic Management Logic:

 Control Logic: Based on sensor data, develop logic for traffic light control or other traffic
management actions. For instance, if a vehicle is detected by sensors in a specific lane, the
system might change the traffic light to allow that lane to proceed.
 Action Execution: Use output pins from the CPLD kit to control traffic lights.
