LESSON 2
Topic Outline
1 Touring the Premiere Pro interface
2 Using the standard digital
video workflow
Touring the Premiere
Pro interface
Touring the Adobe Premiere Pro
interface can help you get
comfortable with its layout and
features, making your video
editing process more efficient
Project Panel
This is where you import and organize
your media files, including videos,
audio, images, and sequences. You
can create bins (folders) to keep your
assets organized.
Source Monitor
Used to preview and trim your raw
clips before adding them to the
timeline. You can set in and out points
here to select specific parts of a clip.
Program Monitor
This shows the output of your current
timeline sequence. It’s where you can
preview your edits as you work.
Timeline Panel
The timeline is where you assemble
and edit your video by placing clips in
sequence. This is where you add
effects, transitions, and perform most
of your editing tasks.
Effects Controls Panel
Allows you to adjust the parameters
of effects applied to clips in the
timeline. This is where you fine-tune
things like opacity, position, scale,
and any applied effects.
Effects Panel
Houses all the effects and transitions
that you can apply to your clips. You
can search for effects and drag them
onto clips in the timeline.
Media Browser
Allows you to browse and import
media directly from your storage
devices into the project.
Lumetri Color Panel
Provides color grading tools to adjust
the color, exposure, and overall look
of your footage.
Essential Graphics Panel
Allows you to create and customize
titles, lower thirds, and other motion
graphics.
Using the standard
digital video workflow
The standard digital video
workflow in Adobe Premiere
Pro involves several key
stages, from importing media
to exporting the final video.
Create Bins
Organize your assets
by creating bins
(folders) within the
Project Panel. For
instance, you can
have separate bins
for video clips, audio,
graphics, and
sequences.
Label Clips
Use labels and metadata to
further organize and tag your
media, making it easier to find
clips during editing.v
Create a Sequence
Start by creating a new sequence
that matches the settings of your
video footage (resolution, frame
rate, etc.)
Export Settings
Once satisfied with your edit, go
to File > Export > Media. In the
Export Settings dialog, choose
your desired format (e.g., H.264
for most web-based exports), set
the resolution, bitrate, and other
settings.
