indicating the format of the file.

• File extensions help the operating system and software programs determine how
to open and handle the file.

• File Explorer.

• On a Windows PC, File Explorer is the default


file management tool that allows users to
browse, organize, and manage the files
and folders stored on their computer.

• It provides a graphical user interface (GUI)


for interacting with the system's file structure,
making it easy to locate and manipulate files.

• The File Explorer icon is usually found in the


Taskbar on a windows PC

• Open MS Word

• Save the file


• Select the Floppy disk icon in the quick access
bar or

• Short key key: CTRL + S

• Save the file to the Desktop Folder.

• Save file as as “1 File Management


Creating an Email

• Login to your school’ email account.


• Compose email
• In the recipient's line , type your own
email address.
• Identify the paper clip icon
• A pop up window will appear
reflecting the File Explorer.
• Search for the Desktop Folder
• Select your file, then select
open/insert
