 Advantages and Disadvantages

Introductio
Intel Corporation is an American multinational

n of Intel
corporation headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

It is the world's second largest
semiconductor chip maker.

 Intel Corporation was founded on July 18, 1968 by

semiconductor developer Robert Noyce and Gordon
Moore (of Moore's law), and widely associated with the
executive leadership and vision of Andrew Grove

What is Processors ?
• A processor is an integrated electronic circuit that performs the
calculations that run a computer, A processor performs
arithmetical, logical, input/output (1/0) and other basic
instructions that are passed from an operating system (OS).
• Function of processors
The four primary functions of a processor are fetch , decode ,
execute and write back.
• Basic elements of a processor
 The Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) carries out Arithmetic and
Logic operations.
 The Floating Point Unit (FPU) known as numeric coprocessor
and logical operation.
 Register supply date to ALU and store the result operations.
 Cache Memory in the CPU saves time to fetch instruction from
(RAM).
 Internal Buses used to connect the components
What is CORE
o Core is part of a CPU that receives
instructions and performs calculations
or actions.
o A set of instructions can allow a
software program perform a specific
function. The are different types of
core.
o Each core of a CPU can perform
operations separately from the others.
Or, multiple cores may work together to
perform parallel operations on a shared
set of data in the CPU's memory cache.

features of i7 Processors
All support 64-bit execution
 Speed ranges from 2.66GHz to
3.33GHz
 Front Side Bus Speed include 2GHz
4.8GHz or 6.4GHz

 Support DDR3 main memory.

 It has high speed working with
multitasking.
 Ability to increase the memory up
to 1066 M bits And provide the
working speed of 25.6 GB per
Advantages of i7 Processors
 Big cache size
 Very fast
 Better cooling system
 Provide High data visualization technology to users
to view high quality images and video graphic
 The i7 processor is marketed primarily to gaming
enthusiasts, and digital artists such as filmmakers
and animators
Disadvantages of i7 Processors
 Very Costly Power.

 Power Consumption is relatively high

from other processors.

 Will only work with DDR3 Memory,

meaning for people upgrading DDR2 will
have to get a whole new motherboard.
Component of I9 Processors
features of i9 Processors
 Supports Hyper threading

 Up to 16MB Smart Cache1.400 billion Transistors

 Speed Range: 4.3 GHz to 4.6 GHz

 Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) of 16.38 GB

 Memory Type DDR3 1066/1333 Processor: 14nm++

 Improved Intel Turbo Boost Technology 3.0

 New chipset uses Socket R4, a 2,066-pin LGA

 Increase in cores and threads

Advantages of i9 Processors
 Powerful
 Fast
 Great choice for Workstations, power users,
content creators. Although negligible
improvement in gaming.
 Improves the competition in CPU market, which
in result benefits the customers.
 Offer significantly higher number of PCIE lanes
than any other consumer CPU available in the
market. Well, till Thread ripper lands at least
 Intensive multitasking such as video or gaming,
or content creation.
Disadvantages of i9 Processors
 High cost

 High power draw

 Usage is limited certain kinds of people,

not everyone will need this, cause it’s
basically an overkill for regular use.
 Needs expensive motherboards to fit in.
(Again expenses)
