What does EMPOWERMENT


mean?

 It is to give power to something or


someone, to promote the self
actualization or in this case is to
enhance your knowledge about a
certain topic.
What does TECHNOLOGY mean?

 The word technology comes from Greek word


“technología“. The greek word “technología” itself is a
combination of other two greek words, “techne” which
means art, skill or craft and “logía” which means study of.

 It is something related in using internet. Internet is the one


that we called “information Highway” because it became
the major source of information, from small to big issues.
What is Empowerment
Technology?

 Empowerment Technology or E-Tech often deals with


the use of different technologies such as mobile
phones, telephone, computer and other devices to
locate, save, communicate and to inform.
Empowerment Technology is important for its
innovative uses that is sufficient in our daily lives.

• It a diverse set of technological tools and
resources used to transmit, store, create, share
or exchange information.

• Having a unified way to communicate is one of


the goals of ICT. We spend less because of ICT.
ICT in the Philippines
• Philippines is dubbed as the ‘’ICT Hub of Asia”.
• Because of huge growth of ICT-related jobs, one of
which is BPO, Business Process Outsourcing, or call
centers.

 It refers to the conveying of information

places. Technically, communication facilitates
the communication between individuals and
groups using smart phones, features phones,
tablets, radio, television and all computer
based technology.

• It is the evolution of Web 1.0 by adding dynamic pages. The
user is able to see a website differently than others.

- The semantic web provides a framework that allows data to be shared and reuse to deliver
web content specifically targeting the user. Search Engine will learn about you and your habits
from each search you perform and will gather details about you from your previous activities
like likes and social postings and present the answers as per your preferences – Aims to have
machines (or servers) understand the user’s preferences to be able to deliver web content.
