ROBOTICS

BY ESHMEHER, AADYA & YOORAV

INTRODUCTION
Robotics is a branch of
engineering and computer
science that in simple words
is the conception, design,
manufacture and operation
robots. Robotics is a field to
create intelligent machines
that can assist humans in
performing a variety of
tasks,
A NEED FOR ROBOTICS

● Robots can perform tasks in hazardous environments and can be

equipped with needed tools increasing productivity and
efficiency.

● Robots can perform redundant tasks for us, saving us time and,
making room for us to perform more critical tasks.

● In jobs with fixed programs, they can do it faster and reduce the
chance of human error.
WHERE CAN WE SEE AN
INCREASED USE OF ROBOTICS?
Automobile industry
Frankfurt, Mar 22, 2023 — The automotive industry
has the largest number of robots working in factories
around the world: Operational stock hit a new record
of about one million units. This represents about one
third of the total number installed across all
industries.
Some
innovations
Mobile Aloha
It is a robot that can perform
humanoid tasks. It was created
by stanford students and
employees of google
deepmind. It mimics bimanual
work and work the requires
whole body teleoperation.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
• Like the human memory, this
robot has to perform a task
to do it.

• It has a mobile base to

navigate and move much
like a human.

• Whole body teleoperation

interface is used to
coordinate with the other
parts much like how the
nervous system tells the
IRIS
WHO IS SHE?
India's first AI-powered humanoid
teacher, IRIS, was introduced at KTCT
Higher Secondary School in
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Developed by Makerlabs Edutech.

This four-wheeled robot effectively

navigates classrooms and engages with
students and educational materials.
MORE ABOUT IRIS

● IRIS uses generative AI technology to create interactive

learning sessions for individual students.

● It can communicate in three languages making it easier to

communicate with diverse students.

● Moreover, its user-friendly interface and accessibility via an

Android app allow personalization of learning experiences.

● Its voice assistant enables it to answer questions and provide

explanations.
KARMI-Bot
WHAT IS IT?

It is an innovative service robot developed by

ASIMOV Robotics, based in Kochi, India.
Designed primarily for healthcare
applications. This robot aims to enhance
safety and efficiency in multiple places, one
of them being isolation wards, particularly
during the COVID-19 pandemic and similar
health crises.
KEY FEAUTURES OF KARMI-bot
● KARMI-Bot has a maximum payload capacity of 20
kilograms and operates on a battery that lasts up to five
hours before needing a recharge.

● KARMI-Bot is equipped with advanced features to disinfect

used items during its return journey. It can also spray
high-power detergents to clean infected areas, ensuring a
safer environment for both patients and healthcare staff.

● A variant called KARMI-CLEAN focuses specifically on

large-area disinfection using UV light.
KEY FEAUTURES OF KARMI-bot
● The robot can engage video conferencing with caregivers
remotely. This allows for continuous patient monitoring
and interaction without requiring physical presence.

● The robot can be monitored and controlled via an Android

application, allowing healthcare providers to configure
destination points and oversee operations from a safe
distance.

● Its design allows it to withstand frequent cleaning with

detergents, making it suitable for hospital environments.
