Scientific and technical texts often contain specialized vocabulary that may not be
easily understandable to those outside the specific field.

Translators must understand the specific context and subject matter to ensure
accurate translation.
3. Consistency
Using different terms for the same concept can confuse readers and reduce the
credibility of the translation.

Translators must differentiate the styles and structures of scientific research articles,
patents, and technical manuals, etc.

3. Solutions for the translator
1. Create a terminology corpus with CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation ) tools
Step 4: Use Control + H to find and check all the translated terms for consistency

Group task: Select ONE field in the provided file and use a CAT tool/ChatGPT to
translate the text. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Extract the terms using the tool and scan the text to identify the additional
terms manually. Highlight all of these terms in the source text.
Step 2: Use the tool to translate the terms as instructed before. Interpret the terms and
give THREE valid Vietnamese sources for the finalized translations.
Step 3: Present the source text and the translation in a two-column table with all
highlighted terms in the source text and translated terms in the target text.
