AIM
The aim of this project is to protect the transformer
during overloading. It will also have sensor to sense
the Overload current of transformer and cutoff the
extra load. Transformer Safety device are used to
reducing the extra load automatically, and
transformer can be protected.
Objectives
➢The major objectives of this project are: -

➢ To verify how transformer safety system work.

➢ Decide the feature require.
➢ To verify how system cut off the load.
➢ To verify how timer sensor work.
➢ To verify how device, protect the transformer from overload.
➢ To verify how transformer safety operation work.
➢ To verify how much load is sufficient for transformer and how much load
for cut off.
➢ To verify how much voltage is requiring to operate the timer sensor.
➢ To verify how transformer will supply power for operating load.

Objective of this Project
distribution grid. At substations, transformers step down
transmission voltages (tens or hundreds of thousands of volts) to
distribution levels (below 10,000 volts). Transformers are vital in this
system but face issues like overloads, voltage variations, and
heating, which can reduce efficiency or cause damage. To protect
transformers, a safety sensor timer circuit is used. When the load
exceeds the rated capacity, the safety device automatically
disconnects the extra load, ensuring the transformer remains
protected and operational.
WORKING FUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM
In this project, a 12V, 750mA step-down transformer and a
7805-voltage regulator are used for voltage regulation. A bridge-
type full-wave rectifier converts the 230/12V AC output to DC. Four
loads (L1, L2, L3, L4) are connected; L1, L2, and L3 are parallel loads,
while L4 is connected through a timer sensor circuit that senses
current and disconnects excess load. Four switches (S1, S2, S3, S4)
control each load, and an R1 resistor protects the 3mm LED light
load.
Under normal conditions, the transformer handles loads up to 750mA.
When S1, S2, and S3 are ON, currents of 188mA, 376mA, and
564mA flow, respectively. Turning ON S4 increases the current beyond
the set limit, and the sensor circuit disconnects L4 within 5 seconds
to protect the transformer. The load switching network allows ON/OFF
FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SYSTEM
•Automatic Load Cut off by sensor.
•No manual error fit and forget system.
•Highly sensitive low cost and reliable circuit.
•It prevents the main transformer from damage due to the problems like
overload and overheat.
•Un-interrupted power supply to the consumers is supplied.
•The load voltage and current are effectively monitored.
•Electrical Network Monitoring & Control.
•Electrical Integrated Control.
•Integrated Protection and Control.
