ABSTRACT

• Traditional circuit breakers lack robust access control leaving them

vulnerable to tampering and accidental operation.

• The reliance on manual operation introduces human error as a significant

factor in electrical safety incidents.

• Delays inherent in manual operation can exacerbate the consequences of

electrical faults leading to increased damage.

• Automating circuit breaker control can improve system responsiveness and

reduce the impact of electrical faults.

• Integrating security features like password protection enhances control and

prevents unauthorized system access.
OBJECTIVE

• Enhance Operational Safety: Develop a Password-Enabled Circuit Breaker

to reduce risks of manual operation and improve safety for line workers.

• Strengthen Security Measures: Use an ATMEGA32U70 Microcontroller to

prevent unauthorized access and mitigate brute force attack risks.

• Facilitate Future Integration: Enable future enhancements like biometrics

and real-time monitoring for better security and control.
INTRODUCTION

• Circuit breakers are essential for protecting electrical circuits from the
overloads and short circuits.

• Traditional manual operation poses safety risks including potential

accidents and operational errors.

• Our project introduces a Password Enabled Circuit Breaker to address

these concerns enhancing security and laying the groundwork for future
technological advancement.

• Aims to further improve security, operational control and overall system

protection.

• Structured to support future enhancements like Biometric Authentication

and real-time monitoring.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

• Traditional circuit breakers while essential for protecting electrical circuits

rely on manual operation which presents significant safety and security
challenges.

• This manual dependency introduces the risk of human error particularly

in high-stress situations or hazardous environments.

• Line workers are especially vulnerable facing potential communication

breakdowns and delayed responses that can lead to electrical accidents.

• Conventional circuit breakers lack robust access control making them

vulnerable to unauthorized operation and tampering.

• These vulnerabilities necessitate the development of an enhanced circuit

breaker system.
CURRENT METHOD

• Manual Operation:Traditional circuit breakers require manual operation,

posing safety risks for line workers due to potential communication
issues & response delays.

• Basic Electrical Protection:These systems protect circuits from overloads

and short circuits but lack advanced security features to prevent
unauthorized access.
PROPOSED METHOD

Integration of IoT and Software for

Enhanced Security

• By integrating IoT technology, the circuit breaker is connected to a secure

network enabling real-time monitoring & control from remote locations.

• This allows the system to log all access attempts, both successful & failed
and to send alerts to authorized personnel if unusual activity detects.

• These alerts notify administrators of potential brute force attacks and

facilitating quick intervention.
ADVANTAGES

• Enhanced Safety

• Improved Security

• Increased Efficiency

• Better System Reliability

• Future-Proofing

• Cost-Effectiveness
