INPUT DEVICES

• An input device can receive instructions

from users or forward information to
another device, but it is not able to accept
data from another system.

• After receiving input, it translates these

data into the electrical signals in binary
code, which cannot be understandable by
humans, and only a digital computer can
understand it.

OUTPUT DEVICES

• Output devices are the section of a computer device

that receives data from another device and produces
output with the information. Although it cannot send
data to another device, it has the ability to forward
data from a computer to another computer system.

• It functions to take data from input devices and

translate the digitized signals into a form that can be
understandable by users.

INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICE
ISSUES
• Monitor not working
• Mic not working
• No sound
• Some of the keyboard keys not working
• Mouse buttons not working
• Printer not working

Cache Memory

• Cache memory is a small-sized type of volatile

computer memory that provides high-speed data
access to a processor and stores frequently used
computer programs, applications and data.

• A temporary storage of memory, cache makes

data retrieving easier and more efficient. It is the
fastest memory in a computer, and is typically
integrated onto the motherboard and directly
embedded in the processor or main random
access memory (RAM).

Data Storage Maintenance
• Refers to the process of maintaining data more
effectively. It requires a proper understanding of
storage devices and the availability of various
types of data.

• Storage management ensures data is available to

users when they need it.

• Data storage maintenance is typically part of the

storage administrator's job. Organizations without
a dedicated storage administrator might use an IT
generalist for storage management.

Security risk in Data Storage
• Data privacy
• Lack of control
• Shared servers
• Lack of backup services
• Data leakage
• Rogue devices
• API and storage gateways

Computer Files and Folder
Management
• File management is the process of naming, storing and
organizing files in a system or program that makes it
easy to locate documents.
• Most companies use a digital form of file management, but
physical file management remains beneficial for certain
companies.
• Organizing files digitally is helpful because many systems
offer the option to organize files for you, making it easier and
quicker to store and locate documents. Digital file
management is also helpful because you and your
employees can access files on almost any device, regardless
of the time or place, which is especially valuable for remote
workers.

Number System / Data
Representation
The number system is a way to represent or express numbers.
You have heard of various types of number systems such as the
whole numbers and the real numbers. But in the context of
computers, we define other types of number systems. They are:

• The decimal number system

• The binary number system
• The octal number system and
• The hexadecimal number system
