HAZARD •A hazard is a potential source of harm, such as injury, property damage, or environmental degradation. Hazards can be natural, human-made, or a combination of the two. TYPES OF HAZARDS • Chemical hazards These can be explosive, flammable, corrosive, or oxidizing. They can be present in any form, such as a solid, liquid, or gas. TYPES OF HAZARDS •Physical hazards These can affect the body's physical well-being, such as through loud noises, heat, radiation, or ultraviolet rays. TYPES OF HAZARDS •Biological hazards These are organic substances that can threaten the health of living organisms. TYPES OF HAZARDS • Ergonomic hazards These are physical factors that can lead to musculoskeletal injuries (MSDs). TYPES OF HAZARDS • Safety hazards These can occur due to unexpected or avoidable circumstances. The danger can range from minor to serious, and can even be fatal. TYPES OF HAZARDS • Psychosocial hazards These involve factors that can affect mental health, such as stress, bullying, violence, and work-related pressure.
