Proposed Major Infrastructure Projects
North-South Commuter
•Railway
Location: Metro Manila and the island of Luzon, connecting New Clark
City to Calamba.

•Purpose: Improve connectivity within the Greater Manila Area, reduce


travel time, and serve as a catalyst for economic growth.

•Projected Completion Year: 2028 (partial), 2031

Metro Manila Subway


•Location: Metro Manila, running north-south between
Valenzuela and Pasay.

•Purpose: Provide a high-capacity, fast, and efficient


underground rail transit system, connecting to major
transportation hubs and airports.

•Projected Completion Year: 2029


LRT Extension 1
•Location: Metro Manila, extending the existing LRT Line 1 from
Baclaran to Dr. Santos station.

•Purpose: Improve connectivity and reduce travel time for


commuters in the southern part of Metro Manila.

•Projected Completion Year: Fourth quarter of 2024

MRT Line 7
Location and Purpose:
• The Metro Rail Transit Line 7, also known as MRT Line 7 or MRT-7, is
a rapid transit line under construction in the Philippines.
• The line will be 22.8 kilometers (14.2 mi) long, with 14 stations, and
the first line to have a third rail electrification.

Projected Completion Year: 2028


Malolos Clark Railway Project
Location: The railway line runs through the provinces of Bulacan
and Pampanga, connecting Malolos City to the Clark regional
growth center and Clark International Airport

Purpose: It is expected to reduce the travel time between Manila


and Clark International Airport to one hour upon its completion

Projected Completion Year: The MCRP was initially expected to


be completed by 2025

Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge


•Location: Bataan to Cavite, connecting the two
provinces across Manila Bay.
•Purpose: The primary purpose of the Bataan-
Cavite Interlink Bridge is to significantly improve
connectivity between the provinces of Bataan and
Cavite, reducing travel time and easing traffic
congestion in Metro Manila.
•Projected Completion Year: 2029
Davao Bypass Road
•Location: The 45.5-kilometer bypass road project stretches
from Barangay Sir Awan in Toril, Davao City, to Barangay J.P.
Laurel in Panabo City

•Purpose: Reduce traffic congestion and improve travel time


within Davao City.

•Projected Completion Year: 2029

Samal Island-Davao City


Connector Bridge
•Location: The bridge will span the Pakiputan Strait, a narrow channel
separating the island of Samal from Davao City. It will be a 3.98-kilometer
(2.47-mile) long, four-lane, cable-stayed bridge with a vertical navigational
clearance of up to 47 meters.

•Purpose: often referred to as the Davao-Samal Bridge, is a significant


infrastructure project in the Philippines, aiming to connect the island of
Samal to the mainland Davao City.

•Projected Completion Year: 2028


EDSA Busway System
•Location: The EDSA Busway is a Bus Rapid Transit
(BRT) system in Metro Manila, Philippines, running along
the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), the main
thoroughfare of the metropolis.

•Purpose: The EDSA Busway spans a significant portion of


EDSA, connecting various points within Metro Manila.

•Projected Completion Year: 2024; privatization by 2025

Calamaniugan-Aparri Bridge
•Location: also known as the Camalaniugan Bridge is located in
the Cagayan Province, specifically crossing the Cagayan River and
linking the towns of Aparri and Camalaniugan

•Purpose: Improve connectivity between the two municipalities,


facilitating trade and tourism.

•Projected Completion Year: 4th Quarter of 2024


Northern Access Link
Expressway
• Location:
Project
Phase 1: Stretches 19 kilometers from Skyway Stage 3 in
Balintawak, Quezon City to the NMIA in Bulacan, passing through
Malabon, Obando, Tullahan, and Meycauayan.
Phase 2: A 117-kilometer stretch from the NMIA to the Tarlac–
Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEx) near Tarlac City. This phase
is planned to be constructed after the NMIA and Phase 1 of NALEX
become operational.

•Purpose: The Northern Access Link Expressway (NALEX) is a major


expressway project in the Philippines designed to connect Metro Manila to
New Manila
the New Manila International Airport (NMIA) in Bulacan and eventually
extend to Tarlac.
International Airport
•Projected Completion Year: 2026
•Location: also known as Bulacan International Airport situated on a
2,500-hectare coastal area in Bulacan, Bulacan province,
approximately 35 kilometers north of Metro Manila

•Purpose: It is designed to decongest Ninoy Aquino International


Airport (NAIA) and become the second major airport serving Metro
Manila.
Mindanao Railway

•Location: The Mindanao Railway Project will cover various


locations across Mindanao, connecting major cities and towns
including Davao City, Digos City, Tagum City, and Laguindingan
Airport (Cagayan de Oro)

•Purpose: Status:
• The entire Mindanao Railway Project is currently in various
stages of development.
• The first phase, connecting Tagum-Digos, was initially
planned to be partially operational by 2022, with full
operations by 2024. However, the project has faced delays
and is currently on hold.
• Phase 3, connecting Laguindingan Airport to Cagayan de Oro
and Villanueva, is currently under study.

•Projected Completion Year: The entire Mindanao Railway


Project is expected to be completed in phases, with the final
completion date estimated between 2032 and 2037.
Mindoro Batangas Super
Bridge
•Location and Purpose : also known as the Mindoro-Batangas
Floating Bridge which is planned to connect the island of Mindoro to
the mainland Luzon, specifically Batangas province. The bridge will
have two components: the first spanning 6.4 kilometers from
Barangay Ilijan in Batangas City to Verde Island, and the second
spanning 4.4 kilometers from Verde Island to Barangay Sinandigan
in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.

•Projected Completion Year : 2029
