SENDER
In the process of communication, the term
"sender" refers to the individual who
initiates the communication process. The
sender encodes a message or idea into a
form that can be transmitted to a receiver
through a chosen communication channel.

Message refers to the information
intended to be communicated by
words as in speech, letters,
pictures, or symbols. It can be
verbal or non-verbal.
Verbal messages are
forms of communication
that use words and sound
to convey meaning.

Nonverbal messages
encompass body language,
gestures, tone of voice, facial
expressions, and postures for
conveying information.

Encoding refers to a
crucial element of the
communication process
that involves translating
thoughts, ideas, or
information into a form
that can be conveyed to
others.

process, the "channel" refers
to the medium or method
through which a message is
transmitted from the sender

"Decoding" in the communication process is the


essential stage where the recipient interprets or
understands the message received from the
sender.

a "barrier" is any obstacle that
impedes or disrupts the
effective transmission of
information between the
sender and the receiver.

EMOTIONAL BARRIERS You failed to understand what the teacher
is saying due to frustrations.
USE OF JARGON You are a scientist discussing a certain
weather phenomenon with your neighbor
who does not know much about the topic.
LACK OF CONFIDENCE You are asked to share something about
your day or weekend, but you are hesitant
because you are shy.
NOISY ENVIRONMENT You are having a conversation with some
friends when a song was played loudly.
