WHAT IS NETWORK OPERATING SYSTEM?
• is an operating system designed to support nodes
• connected to a network, application and database sharing
and file and printer access sharing.
• Moreover, its responsible for coordinating various activities
from multiple computers across a
• network. Some of the well-known Network Operating Systems
are Microsoft Windows Server
• 2003, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, UNIX, Linux, Mac OS X,
Novell NetWare, and BSD.

1. Insert your Windows Server 2008 R2 installer


using a CD or your bootable flashdrive. You may
choose[Removable Dev.] to be set as 1st boot
device priority if you are using a bootable flashdrive
to boot your operating system. However, when you
use a CD, set [CDROM:P2-ATAPI iHA] as the first
boot device priority to run the program.

2. Select appropriate language and keyboard


preference and click Next.

3. Click Install Now to begin the installation


process then wait for a little while since the system
is running the installation process.

4. Select Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise


(Full Installation) then click Next. The License
Terms will appear. If you agree with it, tick the “I
accept the license terms” check box and click
Next

5. Click Custom (advanced) since you are doing


a fresh installation.

6. Select which disk the OS will be installed then click Next. After you click Next, the
installation begins. It would take time, so just wait until your computer device restarts.
Windows will then continue and finalize the installation.

7. Registry setting will be updated and the installation continues. Your computer will
once again restart and will proceed to the next part of installation which is the setting
up administrator account.

8. Click Okay to start the administrator log in. Enter a strong password by combining
alphanumeric characters and symbols. Example of a password with symbol
combination is “P@$$Word” then click the arrow right button. Click Okay.

9. Click Okay when confirmation screen


appears. Once done, your screen will look
like the image shown below.

• Note: Every time you log in as administrator in the Windows Server R2 it will always
bring you to the initial configuration task for first time use.
• When the default Initial Configuration Tasks window appears Click Activate windows.
Enter the Product Key and click Next. You’re done. The product key is located at the
back portion of the purchased CD or DVD for the Windows Server Operating
System.
