2021
• The rebrand was mostly to reflect Meta as the parent company of all the other
networking apps under their direction. This change makes sense since the company
was much larger than just Facebook at this point.

• Rebrand was also because of scandals tainting Facebooks reputation causing mistrust
in consumers and partners.

• The name Meta comes from the word Metaverse which is meant to describe their
pioneering in virtual reality. As of now, they continue to focus on fostering human
connectedness through virtual reality, video games, and social networking apps.
SUPPLY CHAIN
• Meta’s supply chain consists of the design and
manufacturing of hardware and technology, and the
procurement of goods and services.
• Comes from things like materials needed for their
products, content services that are provided to them,
packaging items for their products, and consulting.
• Content Reviewers – a huge part of their supply chain.
They hire companies which employ billions of people who
review content on their platforms to make sure they

• They have implemented cross-disciplinary teams that
make sure Meta’s use of AI coincides with the
betterment of society.

• Are aware that human biases can steep into AI data


and regularly partners up with other technology
companies to ensure a more inclusive AI.

• For example, the Speech Accessibility Project – a


project in improving speech recognition for people
with disabilities.

• They promise to ensure that algorithmic rules are


applied in a fair and appropriate matter
