Course Description
This course aims to give students an overview of English grammar and vo-
cabulary with special focus on acquiring and improving language skills in a
dynamic and communicative way, through individual, pair and group
work. Course participants are provided with a combination of online re-
sources and a variety of media.
Emphasis is placed on developing the strategies for effective listening, writ-
ing, reading and speaking especially in educational settings.
Upon completion, participants should be able to demonstrate improved
comprehension, accuracy and fluency, which will enable them to participate
in activities appropriate to academic and professional settings.
Standard Competencies
• Perform good communication skills in English
• Understand the structures of English language and develop vo-
cabulary and fluency
• Speak English confidently in educational as well as professional
setting
Evaluation and Grading
Class Participation : Pre-Requisite (min.75%)
Attendance/Participation : 10%
Project, Assignments/quiz : 50%
Mid-test : 20%
Final Test : 20% +
Total 100%
