ICA COURSE BASED PROJECT

TITLE:
TOUCH ACTIVATED SWITCH
PARTICIPANTS:

• 1) A SREE SATYA SRAVANI-20071A1061

TOUCH ACTIVATED SWITCH

A touch switch is a type of switch that only has to be

touched by an object to operate. It is used in many
lamps and wall switches that have a metal exterior
as well as on public computer terminals. A
touchscreen includes an array of touch switches on a
display. A touch switch is the simplest kind of tactile
sensor.
PRINCIPLE:

When a touch is sensed, the switch

turns ON which in turn produces
an output voltage.
The LED bulb glows when there is
output voltage from the IC393.
COMPONENTS:
1. BATTERIES
2. IC 393 AND BREADBOARD
3. MULTIMETERS
4. RESISTORS
5. TOUCH PLATE (SWITCH)
6. LED BULB
7. CONNECTING WIRES
WORKING:

The circuit is set up in such a way that

there is a change in voltage whenever the
switch is turned on, here the switch
indicates touch.
• Among the two voltages of comparator
one is set as 6V(batteries) and the other
input is depending upon touch switch.
• Now the voltage across the path is
reduced due to touch, and the
comparator output is activated.
• As the circuit is activated the LED glows
indicating the passing of current.
APPLICATIONS:
• Smartphones
• Automotive
• Industrial applications
• Touch sensor faucet in kitchens
