Suggestions from evaluators:
 Bring the presentation in a proper format, i.e the problem statement, objectives
etc should be in sequence.
 Make the work schedule in a primavera P6 software, work schedule in excel
format is not acceptable
 Bring the references in a proper format.
 Present to the supervisor before coming to present in front of evaluators.

INTRODUCTION
Overview of the Proposal Presentation:

Earthquakes are the most destructive natural hazards

throughout human history.

On October 8, 2005 an earthquake event is happen in

northern regions of Pakistan.
More than 73,000 people died, 100,000 were injured .
3 million lost their homes.

INTRODUCTION
Overview of the Proposal Presentation:

 2023 Turkey-Syria Earthquake:

One of the most devastating
earthquakes in recent years, this
earthquake led to the collapse of
thousands of buildings, resulting in
widespread fatalities. The
magnitude of the destruction was
exacerbated by poorly constructed
buildings and inadequate
preparedness, especially in areas
with older infrastructure.

INTRODUCTION
Overview of the Proposal Presentation:

 2022 Japan Earthquake: The earthquake,

while not as severe as others, caused
substantial damage in some areas, with
collapsed buildings, disrupted
transportation, and damage to utilities.
Japan's extensive seismic regulations and
monitoring networks helped mitigate even
more severe consequences, yet the event
still exposed some vulnerabilities.

INTRODUCTION
Overview of the Proposal Presentation:

Real earth quake practices over the world show that local ground strata has a tremendous effect
on wave parameters .
As these earthquake wave travel from bed rock to the surface of the soil.
.
Now different attenuation equation are developed which can indicate this amplification.

To check the accuracy of such equation and software and to obtain practical data different
earthquake measuring instrument are installed in vertical direction at different depth.

This vertical arrangement of seismic instrument are called Seismic vertical Array.

Problem Statement
 As Earthquakes are very important phenomena to be considered
now a days in designing of structures.Without considering
earthquakes effect
❖Bridges can collapse.
❖Roads can damage.
❖Building can collapse.
❖Dam can collapse.
The accurate prediction of seismic wave behavior is essential
for assessing earthquake risks and designing resilient
structures. Seismic wave amplification, influenced by local
ground strata, significantly affects ground motion parameters.
The seismic vertical array installed at the CED lawn provides
a unique opportunity to study site-specific ground motion
characteristics by capturing data at various depths.

Aims And Objectives

 To operate the sensors which are not working properly.

 To do Site response spectrum analysis.
 To process some EQ data stored in the recorder for site effects.
 To access the data in real time on a screen.
 To find the Local site effect of CED Lawn.
 To do Fourier transform analysis
 To compare result of actual data with numerical modelling data

METHODOLOGY
1.Data acquisition and
collection:
i. Configuration:
Open any terminal program and
chose the appropriate COM
port. Baud rate is 115200
preferably UCON will work.
