Music of Japan

JAPAN's MUSIC

 NOH - It is a sort of theatrical music that is also referred to as bugokako.


 GAGAKU - Songs and dances are part of it. The earliest kind of Japanese
traditional music, it is court music. The two types of Gagaku music are kigaku,
which is instrumental music, and seigaku, which is vocal music.
 HOGAKU - The phrase refers to country music. It belongs to Japan's folk music
category.

JAPAN's INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC


 Percussion, wind, and string instruments are the three main categories of
musical instruments used in Japan.
STRING INSTRUMENTS - musical instruments that use string vibration to make
sound.
WIND INSTRUMENTS - blowing or using wind to create sound for musical
instruments.
STRING INSTRUMENTS

1. BIWA - a tale storytelling instrument with a short neck and frets.


2. SHAMISEN - It is more slim than a guitar. A fretless instrument with a
neck similar to a guitar.
3. KOTO - a solo or gagaku ensemble instrument with 13 strings.
WIND INSTRUMENTS
1. SHO - a Japanese musical instrument with free reeds.
2. HICHIRIKI - a Japanese flute with two reeds
3. NOKAN - It is the only melodic instrument used in Noh and is a parallel bamboo
flute.
4. SHAKUHACHI - For Gagaku, it is imported from China. It is the most well-
known Japanese bamboo flute, featuring four or five finger holes.
5. SHINOBUE - It is a Japanese transverse flute with a high pitch. It is also known
as takebue.
6. RYUTEKI - It is a transverse bamboo flute made in Japan. It also goes by the
name "dragon flute."
PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS

1. TSURIDAIKO - played on one side only with two mallets on a big hanging
barrel drum.
2. TSUZUMI - It is a musical instrument with an hourglass form.
3. ODAIKO - Many Japanese festivals have odaiko performances as an
essential component. It is a big drum in the form of a barrel.
4. TAIKO - It has several sizes. It is the primary instrument in percussion
groups and is used to perform many musical genres.

JAPAN'S ARTS AND CRAFTS

 HANAMUSUBI - It pertains to a kind of knotting used in Japan that


emphasizes braids and single knots.
 ANIME - It relates to the hand-drawn manga and anime that are produced
in Japan.
 Kabuki Makeup - It comes in two varieties: "regular makeup," which is
used on the majority of Kabuki performers, and "kumadori makeup," which
is used on the antagonists and protagonists of Kabuki. A kind of face
painting popular among Kabuki theater performers in Japan.
• UKIYO-E or Wood Block Printing - A Japanese art form that creates wood block prints
and paintings depicting historical events, folklore, travel scenery, sumo wrestlers, and
feminine beauty.

• ORIGAMI
 According to a myth from Japan, if someone makes a thousand Japanese origami cranes, a
crane will grant their request.
 The most popular Japanese origami models are flowers, fish, animals, birds, and
geometric forms.
 The name is a combination of the Japanese words "ori" (folding) and "kami" (paper).
 Without using scissors, glue, or tape, one must fold a paper sheet into a sculpture. In
Japan, paper folding is a traditional craft.

Basic Skills in BASKETBALL

 BLOCKING - A defensive player lawfully tried to deflect a field goal or


shot attempts from an offensive player in order to keep a score. This is
known as a block or blocked shot.

 REBOUNDING - When a shot is missed and the ball bounces to the rim
before touching the floor, it is possible to jump powerfully to grab control
of the ball. One of the key elements of the game is it. Regardless of
whether you are on offense or defense, you should be able to rebound
the ball in the proper spot to regain control.

 DRIBBLING - You may move the ball forward using this legal strategy.
Basketball players ought to practice this skill. While you are in control of
the ball, you are free to move about the court. This technique includes
moving around the court while using your hands to bounce the ball off
the floor.
§ PASSING - As a team sport, basketball requires all players to work together
and participate in all aspects of the game. Passing is one of the essential skills that
must be achieved. It is a talent that makes the most of every player's contribution
in planning a play to produce successful shoots and score points for the entire team.

Basic Passing :
1. Basic Passing - The ball should be thrown high enough so that it rebounds waist
height to the player. It is thrown in the same manner, except this time it is directed at
the ground.
2. Overhead Pass - Throw the ball to a teammate by bringing it exactly over your
forehead while holding it with both hands on each side. An outlet pass is frequently
used with it.
3. Chest Pass - Thumbs should be placed directly behind the ball when you throw it
while holding the ball by the sides. It is a certain pass that comes from the chest.

There are two different types of passes:


4. Bounce Pass - a specific form of pass when the ball is tossed to the ground and
bounces to the targeted player.
5. Air Pass - a pass that moves from player to player without touching the ground.
 SHOOTING

 Basketball players spend a significant portion of their practice time on


shooting exercises to raise their level of expertise.
 Shooting is one of the most practiced skills in the game. Shooting is the
first fundamental skill you acquire.
 Everyone who plays basketball enjoys shooting the ball. By attempting
to toss the ball through the basket, one attempts to score points.
 There are several shooting techniques, including slam dunks, hook
shots, layups, set shots, and jump shots.

is committed to carrying out responsibilities.
• Love - Love is necessary because it makes relationships with partners stronger,
aids in understanding partners, and ensures that marriages last until deaths.
• Fidelity - A connection must be made to last, and the other person must be
sincere and respectful of the relationship.
• Maturity - He or she is capable of managing the relationship appropriately and
making sound, well-considered decisions.
• Good Character - He or she must be committed to God, accountable, honest,
diligent, and courteous.
