Abstract
• we live in a world of fast speed .The main spines of the economy
are cities. Contrary to the need of the present transportation
technologies are slower and expensive both. An innovation such
as The Hyperloop presents itself as a solution to this . The concept
of high speed travel in tubes has been around for decades and it
was first reintroduced by Elon musk , this idea seeks to change the
traditional transportation by being both fast and inexpensive for
people and goods
Introduction
• Hyperloop is a proposed
mode of passenger and
freight transportation that
propels a pod like vehicle
through a near vacuum tube
at more than air line speed
• The concept of high speed travel in tubes has been around for
decades but there has been a resurgence in interest pneumatic tube
transportation systems since the concept was reintroduced by
Elonmusk after 2012
The concept

• A capsule full of people in a low

pressure tube elevated on pylon
goes really fast
Whose idea
• Elonmusk
 The hyperloop was proposed by
Elonmusk
 He is also the owner and CEO of Tesla
motors and SpaceX
Then,Now
• Hyperloop concept was invented and designed in 1812 by the
British mechanical engineer George Wenger
• The concept of hyperloop is now developed and redesigned by the
billionaire Elon Musk in 2012
• While the term hyperloop in some countries a registered trade
mark of the space exploration Technologies Corporation (spaceX)
for the high speed transportation of passengers and goods in
partially evacuated tubes, the hyperloop concept has been
explicitly open-sourced by musk and spaceX and others have been
encouraged to take the ideas and further develop them.
WHAT IS HYPERLOOP
• Existing conventional modes of transportation of people consists of
four unique types rail, road, water and air. These modes of transport
tend to be either relatively slow(i.e., road and water),expensive
(i.e.,air),or a combination of relatively slow and expensive.
• It is the fifth mode generation of transportation
• Hyperloop is a new mode of transport that seeks to change this
paradigm by being both fast and inexpensive for people and goods
• Hyperloop consists of a low pressure tube with capsules that are
transported at both low and high speeds throughout the length of the
tube
Components of Hyperloop
• It consists of linear motor i.e., the short rotor for the LIM will be
designed as a pod.The pod will have permanent magnents
embedded with it.
 Capsule(pod)
 Tube
 Propulsion
 Magnetic Levitation
Tube
• The tube is made up of steel.
• Pylons are placed every 100ft(30m) to support the tube.
• Solar arrays will cover the top of the tubes in order to provide power
to the system.
Capsule
• The capsule in hyperloop is an enclosed component in a reduced
pressure tube.
• The capsules are supported via air bearings that operate using a
compressed air reservoir and aerodynamic lift.
Propulsion
• The LIM will help the capsule to
propel forward.
• LIM is used to achieve
rectilinear motion.
• Conceptually , a LIM is a
rotatory motor where its rotor
and windings have been cut
open and laid out flat.
Working Principle
• Simply it have the working principle of air hockey.
• The pods would accelerate to cruising speed gradually using a linear
electric motor and glide above their track using passive magnetic
levitation.
• It is levitated and propelled forward using powerful
electromagnets. This itself considerably reduces losses due to
friction. The absence of air in the hyperloop will further increase the
efficiency by nearly eliminating losses due to air drag and make it
much faster.
Advantages
• High speed than any other transportation methods.
• Immune to weather.
• More convenient.
• Earthquake resistant.
• Safer
• Sustainable self powering
• It is a green mode of transportation system
Disadvantages
• Experience could be frightening
• Turning will be critical
• Less movable for passengers
Conclusion
• As it has number of advantages it will be very helpful
for transporting public as well as goods in a very short
time and also in low cost
• It is a new concept so there is some future work will be
required for development of this project
