competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use thses to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the Introduction development of an active and healthy lifestyle. 1.1 CONCEPT AND MEANING OF FITNESS • Physical fitness involves the performance of the heart and lungs, and the muscles of the body.

with optimal performance, endurance and strength with the management of disease, fatigue and stress and reduced sendentary behavior. 1.1 CONCEPT AND MEANING OF WELLNESS • Wellness is the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind especially as a result of deliberate effort and also is the act of praticing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you’re thriving. There are so many components of fitness, some of them are – 1.2 COMPONENTS 1. Body Composition - primarily distribution of muscle and fat in the body like height, length and OF FITNESS (HEALTH girths. & SKILL) 2. Muscular Strength - The ability to carry out work against a resistance. 3. Cardio –respiratory Endurance - Its the ability f the body’s circulatory and even respiratory system. 4. Flexibility - The capacity of a joint to move through its full range of motion, which is important for execution of the techniques of sports. 5. Quickness – The ability to move or grab or throw something rapidly or quickly. 6. Balanceand coordination - The ability to stay upright or stay in control of body movements. 7. Ability - The ability to change body position or direction of the body quickly. 8. Power - The ability to exert a maximal force in as short a time as possible like jumping and throwing implements. 9.Motor skill - Developed when young like gross motor skill are the basic skills developed with specific sports skills. • Being able to run quickly and lift heavy heights one’s ability to execute daily DESCRIPTION AND activities with optimal performance, IMPORTANCE OF endurance and strength with the FITNESS - management of diseases, fatigue, and stress and reduce sedentary behavior. • Regular physical activity can help children and adolescents improve cardiorespiratory fitness, build strong bones and muscles, control weight, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression and reduce the risk of developing health condition such as HEART DISEASE. 1.3 1.
