Common Core standards

CCSS.Math.Content.HSF-IF.C.7c
Graph polynomial functions, identifying zeros when suitable factorizations
are available, and showing end behavior.

For a function that models a relationship between two quantities, interpret

key features of graphs and tables in terms of the quantities, and sketch
graphs showing key features given a verbal description of the relationship.
Key features include: intercepts; intervals where the function is increasing,
decreasing, positive, or negative; relative maximums and minimums;
symmetries; end behavior; and periodicity.

Activity 1 _Pascal’s triangle
Where can we use it?

The Pascal triangle can be used in real life to learn

algebra in mathematics, and it is also used in
researching on the cell division in a DNA molecule

Economists used binomial theorem to count probabilities that depend

on numerous and very distributed variables to predict the way the
economy will behave in the next few years. To be able to come up with
realistic predictions, binomial theorem is used in this field.
