to craft a clear, concise, and appropriate title for
a concept paper that reflects the core idea of
their proposed project or research.
Materials:
•Pen and paper or digital devices
•Sample concept paper titles (both good and bad
examples)
•Rubric or criteria for a good title
Activity Steps:
1.Introduction (10 minutes):
1.Begin with a brief discussion on the
importance of a good title in a concept
paper.
2.Explain that the title should be:
1.Clear: It should communicate the main
idea.
2.Concise: Short but informative (typically
10-15 words).
3.Engaging: It should capture attention
and give insight into the content.
2. Examples (10 minutes):
1.Present a few examples of well-written
concept paper titles, e.g.:
1.“Improving Water Access in Rural Areas
Through Solar-Powered Pumps”
2.“Integrating AI in Education: A Framework
for Enhanced Learning”
2.Present poorly written titles for comparison,
e.g.:
1.“A Study of Water” (too vague)
2.“Artificial Intelligence in Schools” (too
broad)
3.Discuss as a class why the well-written titles
3. Title Brainstorming (15 minutes):
1.Ask students to brainstorm ideas for
their concept paper titles based on
their chosen topics.
2.Encourage them to focus on:
1.The main idea of their project.
2.The method or solution they are
proposing.
3.The target audience or benefit.
4. Peer Review (10 minutes):
1.Have students pair up and exchange title ideas
with a classmate.
2.Each pair will give feedback using the rubric
provided (criteria include clarity, conciseness, and
relevance).
5. Finalization (10 minutes):
3.After the peer review, ask students to revise and
finalize their titles based on the feedback they
received.
6. Reflection (5 minutes):
4.End the activity with a quick reflection where
students share one tip they learned about creating
an effective title.
