What is Prototype model
Prototype Model is a software development model in which prototype is built,
tested, and reworked until an acceptable prototype is achieved.
 It also creates base to produce the final system or software.

Prototyping model Implement and maintain

Phases of prototype model

• It is a very famous software development model.

• In this model client is also involved at the time of designing the system.
• In, prototype model is modified until the client is not satisfied, then we jumped to the next phase.
• The goal of prototype model is to provide a system with Overall functionality.
• Prototype model is an iterative development cycle between developer & client.
• We can also use the prototype model with other model.
When to use prototype model

 Requirements are unclear or not well-defined.

 The project involves user.

 You want to test ideas early.

 Cost and time efficiency matter.

 Good for technical and requirement risk

Advantages of prototype model

 User are not satisfied with the prototype, then a new prototype is
created again.

 Customer feedback is available for better system.

 We can also use this protype model with other model.

 Errors can be detected at earlier stage.

 Missing functionality can be identified easily.

Disadvantages of prototype
model
 Total dependency on prototype.

 Sometimes it takes very long time to develop the prototype based on the
user requirement.

 Increase in cost of development.

 May Lead to Unrealistic Expectations.
