LOGBOOK
• 1 per group
• Must contain the Group No. and name of the Group members in the cover
• Must be submitted on the scheduled Pre-Lab
PARTS
I. Title (center of the page)
II. Problem
III. Hypothesis (should be more than one)
IV. Methodology (concept map only)
V. Data and Results (tabulated form)
VI. Conclusion (answer to hypothesis)
BIOCHEM LAB Requirements
Written report
• Title (5points)
• Must contain description of the nature and properties of the system under observation in the experiment
• Include the molecular structure (if applicable), highlighting the active site that participate in the reaction
• Give the Importance and applications
• Cite references (APA format) preferably journals or books
• Learn the art of paraphrasing, do not copy the exact words of the authors
• Present the problem and objectives of the experiment in the last paragraph
• Limit to a maximum of two pages (for texts), and 5 pages if there are many figures
• USE Arial, font 11, double space, justified texts
Guidelines in Writing a Written Laboratory Report
• Methodology (10points)
• Paraphrase the procedures. Do not copy the exact words in the laboratory manual
• Use concept maps (diagram and photos) to illustrate the details of the steps involved
• Explain the principle behind each step (e.g. if there are conditions give such as ph, temperature etc.)
• Conclusion (10points)
