WHAT IS AI
ARTWORK?
In the realm of art, Artificial Intelligence (AI) uses algorithms trained on
diverse images and art styles to generate new, unique pieces of artwork.
Essentially, AI can mimic and combine different artistic techniques,
producing original creations that push the boundaries of traditional art.
HOW TO CREATE
AI ARTWORK
To create a piece of AI artwork, you’ll first need to
choose an AI image generator (try searching for some
online). Once you have chosen a generator, you will be
asked to enter some ideas (called a prompt) which will
then be turned into art by the image generator.

A prompt is simply a short description or keywords you


give the AI to guide it in creating the image.

As discussed previously, to
create AI-generated art, you’ll
need to use a prompt. For
example, you could type
something like “retro home
decor with neon lights and
colors,” and the AI will generate
an artwork based on that
description (see example).
UNDERSTANDING
THE TECHNOLOGY
Artificial Intelligence leverages algorithms and machine
learning to create art. By analyzing thousands of images, these
AI programs learn various artistic styles, patterns, and
techniques. They can then use this learned information to
generate entirely new and unique pieces of art. This process
involves complex neural networks that mimic the way human
brains process visual information, enabling AI to produce
artwork that can be strikingly original.
ETHICS AND
CREATIVITY
AI art raises important questions about creativity and
originality, such as: Who owns the artwork created by
AI? The producer? The user? The AI itself?

AI-generated art also challenges our understanding of


what it means to be creative. While AI can produce
stunning visuals, it does so without the emotions and
intentions that drive human artists. This sparks a
fascinating debate about the role of technology in the
creative process and its impact on the art world.
