INTRODUCTION
The term "digital twin" was popularized
by Dr. Michael Grieves, a researcher and
professor at the University of Michigan, in
the early 2000s
Grieves introduced the concept of digital
twins in the context of product lifecycle
management (PLM) and proposed its
application for improving product design,
manufacturing, and maintenance
processes.
