Intended Outcomes of Araling Panlipunan. The K to 12
curriculum guide for Araling Panlipunan emphasizes the
development of a well-rounded citizen who is analytical,
creative, responsible, productive, environmentally
conscious, patriotic, and compassionate 1: This
curriculum aims to foster a sense of national and global
awareness, appreciation for historical and social issues,
and a strong sense of Filipino identity.
KEY STAGE STANDARDS
STANDARDS PROVIDE A BROAD FRAMEWORK FOR THE LEARNING
EXPECTATIONS ACROSS DIFFERENT GRADE LEVELS. IN ARALING
PANLIPUNAN, THE KEY STAGE STANDARDS FOCUS ON DEVELOPING
STUDENTS' UNDERSTANDING OF:
• Self and Family: Students should be able to identify themselves as individuals within their
families and communities, understand their roles and responsibilities, and appreciate the
importance of family values and traditions.
• Community and Environment: should understand their local communities, identify community
helpers, understand environmental concepts, and develop a sense of responsibility towards their
surroundings.
• Philippine Culture and Society: Students should be introduced
to Filipino customs, traditions, and values, learn about different
ethnic groups and languages, and develop a sense
of national pride.
GRADE LEVEL STANDARDS
Grade Level Standards outline specific learning expectations for each grade level,
building upon key stage standards to provide a comprehensive curriculum roadmap.
For example, in Grade 1, students are expected to:

• Self and Family: Identify themselves, their family members, and their roles within the family.

• Community and Environment: Recognize community helpers and their roles. identity basic
