interactions and expectations. It refers to the unwritten,
unofficial, and often unintended lessons, values, and
perspectives that students learn during their academic
journey; concepts like friendship, honesty, fairness, the
value of work, ethnic relations, and cultural differences, etc.

1.NATIONAL ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL CURRICULUM (NESC
1983-2002)

in molding them as human persons, as a good
citizens and productive agents for economic,

provides every Filipino child the basic preparation
to become an enlightened, disciplined,
nationalistic, self reliant, God-loving, creative,

BASIC EDUCATION CURRICULUM (2002)

• As announced in DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2002, the 2002


Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) shall be implemented
in all public schools during the pilot year 2002-2003.

• The Department of Education is implementing this school


opening the 2002 Basic Education Curriculum (BEC).It is
the product of 16 years of study conducted under the
various DepEd secretaries (Lourdes Quisumbing, Isidro
Cariño, and Bro.
