Problem Statement:
In industries, commercial buildings, and residential spaces, maintaining optimal air quality and
temperature is crucial for the health and safety of occupants, as well as the efficiency of
operations. Traditional exhaust ventilation systems are often inefficient, lacking real-time control
based on dynamic environmental conditions. This can result in poor air quality, energy wastage,
and high maintenance costs. Furthermore, human intervention is frequently required to monitor
and adjust ventilation settings, which can lead to delays and errors.
Objective: Create a smart exhaust ventilation system that automatically monitors and controls air
quality, temperature, and humidity. Using sensors and smart technology, the system should adjust
itself in real-time to keep the environment healthy and energy-efficient without needing people to
manage it constantly.

WORKING:
1. Sensors monitor air quality, temperature, and gas
levels in the kitchen.
2. Real-time data is processed to detect changes, like
smoke or gas leaks.
3. The smart exhaust automatically adjusts speed to
control ventilation based on air conditions.
4. It optimizes energy use, only running when needed.
5. Alerts notify users of any critical issues, like gas
leaks.
6. Users can remotely control and monitor the system
via a mobile app.
The Following Tasks:
1. Monitor the Temperature & Humidity using DHT11 Sensor on Blynk App.
2. Monitor the Air Quality Index (Gas) using MQ-135 Gas Sensor on Blynk App.
3. Displays the Temperature, Humidity & Gas Level on 0.96″ OLED Display.
4. The exhaust fan turns ON & the Alarm activates, once Gas level exceeds.
5. Detects the presence or absence of a person in the Kitchen using a PIR sensor.
6. Sends Alarm Status, Exhaust Fan Status & Person in Room Status to Blynk App.
7. User can turn ON/OFF Fridge, Oven, Room Light Remotely from Blynk App.
Advantages:
1. Effectively removes smoke, odors, and pollutants, enhancing indoor air quality.
2. Automatically adjusts fan speed based on air quality, reducing energy consumption.
3. Detects gas leaks or harmful fumes, providing timely alerts and ventilation.
4. Offers continuous air quality data for informed decision-making.

Disdvantages:
5. Higher upfront investment for smart exhaust systems and installation.
6. Requires technical knowledge for setup and maintenance.
7. Reliance on software and sensors can lead to failures without proper maintenance.
8. Data collected by smart devices may raise privacy issues.

Advantages & Disadvantages

Applications:
1. Automatically activates to eliminate smoke and strong
odors while cooking.
2. Integrates with gas detectors to provide alerts and activate
ventilation if leaks are detected.
3. Monitors humidity levels and adjusts ventilation to
prevent mold growth and maintain comfort.
4. Manages kitchen temperature by expelling excess heat
from cooking appliances.
5. Continuously tracks indoor air quality metrics, such as
particulate matter and VOCs.
6. Connects with smart cooktops to activate ventilation
based on cooking intensity and duration.
7. Allows users to manage and monitor ventilation settings
from smartphones or smart home devices.
Smart kitchen exhaust ventilation systems enhance air
quality, safety, and energy efficiency while providing
convenience and automation, making them a valuable
addition to modern kitchens.
