develop career awareness and readiness.
The Process of Learning And Teaching
• Teaching and learning are two sides of the same coin. Without teaching there is
no learning and without learning there is no teaching .
• Through teaching the process of sharing knowledge, skills and
Sharing experiences with others in way that helps people to
Learn.
 Involves a variety of activities , such as planning, instruction , assessment, and
feedback .
 Learning is the process of obtaining knowledge, skills, and experiences .
 It can acquire and can take place in various ways.

Experiential Learning and Critical
Thinking
• Experiential Learning is the process of learning by
doing. By engaging students in hands-on experiences
and reflection, they are better able to connect theories
and knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world
situations.
• Experiential learning opportunities exist in a variety of
course- and non-course-based forms and may include
community service, service-learning, undergraduate
research, study abroad/away, and culminating
experiences such as internships, student teaching, and
capstone projects, to name a few.
Experiential Learning and Critical Thinking
Outcome
• When students participate in experiential learning/education
opportunities, they gain:
• A better understanding of course material
• A broader view of the world and an appreciation of community
• Insight into their own skills, interests, passions, and values
• Opportunities to collaborate with diverse organizations and
people
• Positive professional practices and skill sets
• The gratification of assisting in meeting community needs
• Self-confidence and leadership skills
Project Based Learning
• One of the most effective strategies is project-based
learning, which engages students in complex, real-world
projects where they are challenged to develop and
apply skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and
teamwork. For example, students might create a
business plan for a hypothetical start-up, weaving
together concepts from economics, mathematics, and
social studies.
Field Trips
• Field trips are a long-standing tradition in experiential
learning, providing students with a first-hand encounter
of the topics they are studying. A trip to a historical
monument can make lessons from history class come
alive, while a visit to a factory can solidify
understanding of manufacturing processes in economics
or physics
.
• Allow students to experience and observe the world around them by taking
them outside of the classroom. This can be through technology, such as a
virtual field trip where students can get an inside look at something like the
a spacecraft through digital media. Physically taking students outside of
the classroom helps them learn to observe the world through their own
eyes.

• This approach utilizes concepts, problems, or issues that are similar to ones students have
encountered or are likely to encounter in life.
• It brings the relevance, complexity and motivation of the real world to learning.
• Sensory experiences are highlighted thereby appealing to and assisting a wide range of learners.
• Making real-world connections promotes student achievement through the authenticity of the
learning.
• Learning is based on information derived from real-world sources
• The learning and the results of the learning are directed to audiences beyond the school.
• It supports character education as relationships between the community, the school and students are
enhanced.
• It generates many issues or questions to pursue through inquiry.
