PROBLEM DEFINITION.....
 Industrial accidents due to gas leakage pose significant risks and must be
addressed.
 The proposed system utilizes an MQ-6 sensor to detect LPG, CH4, and CO gas
leaks.
 The main objective is to develop a unique device for safe detection and fault
prevention in endangered factories.
 The device aims to prevent explosions by promptly identifying combustible gas
releases.
 Additionally, the system monitors multiple factors for enhanced security.
 The implementation of this system is crucial to ensure safety and prevent
potential disasters in various settings such as households, industries, and
restaurants.
INTRODUCTION
 Technology advancement is continuous, leading to increased convenience
in human life.
 Automation is essential, and web technology plays a crucial role in
providing access to data and systems.
 Web controllers or E-controllers are widely used for remote management
and control of IoT devices.
 Web control systems in IoT offer energy savings, comfort, and efficiency for
users worldwide.
 IoT monitoring allows analysis of dynamic systems and bridges the gap
between devices and businesses.
 Industrial monitoring systems connect with open-source apps like Blynk,
using sensors to monitor machine surroundings.
COMPONENTS
 Arduino Mega -
Arduino Mega 2560: Feature-rich microcontroller board with ATmega2560, 54 digital I/O
pins (15 PWM capable), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs, 16 MHz crystal, USB, power jack, ICSP
header, and reset button. Easy programming using Arduino Software (IDE). Compatible with
most Uno shields. Operating voltage: 5V, input voltage: 7-12V (max: 6-20V).

 WIFI Module (ESP8266) -

ESP8266 WiFi Module: IoT-based industrial monitoring system uses ESP8266 to collect sensor
data and transmit it over the internet via Wi-Fi. Features 4MB flash memory, 80 MHz system
clock, 64 KB SRAM, and on-chip Wi-Fi transceiver for TCP/IP connections and data transfer.
 Smoke sensor(MQ-2) -

MQ-2 Smoke Sensor: Utilizes MC145012DW smoke detector chip with infrared
photoelectric chamber for precise detection of smoke and various combustible gases.
Features adjustable sensitivity via built-in potentiometer, and outputs voltage
proportional to the amount of smoke/gas present. Four pins include analog, digital, GND,
and VCC-5V for easy interfacing.

 Temperature and Humidity sensor -

Temperature and Humidity Sensor (DHT11): Monitors temperature (0 to 50 degrees

Celsius) with +-2 degree accuracy and humidity (20 to 80%) with 5% accuracy. Operates
at 3 to 5 volts with a maximum current of 2.5 milliamperes. Widely used in industrial
operations for temperature monitoring and in measuring relative humidity as a
percentage. Translates variations in voltage levels between two plates to digital data for
humidity measurement.
 GAS Sensor

A gas detector is a piece of hardware, which determines gas concentration in an

environment, mostly as an aspect of a security system. The tool is used for measuring
gas or other pollutants and can communicate with a control unit to disrupt the
operation instantly. In the region during which a leak exists, a gas sensor may send an
alert, and make them leave. This kind of gadget is significant in the view of the fact
that there are innumerable gasses that could adversely affect natural life.

 Water Leak Sensor

Water leak sensor used to measure the moisture content in the earth. This is
indication for the water level or moisture content measurement. Depends on the
moisture content its state gives to aurdino micro processor automatically alerts the
liquid leak and send to IOT modem for alerts.
 LCD DISPLAY

LCD Screen (16x2): A versatile electronic display module with widespread

applications. It features a 16x2 character display using a 5x7 pixel matrix per
character. Working voltage: 4.7V to 5.3V. Display bezel: 72 x 25mm. Two
registers: Command and Data. Operating current without backlight: 1mA.
HD47780 controller's PCB: 80L x 36W x 10H mm, Module's PCB: 80L x 36W x
10H mm. Available with green or blue LED backlights.

 WATT LED

1W LED: This light-emitting diode features two terminals, a positive and a negative
terminal. Current: 300mA to 350mA, Voltage (anode to cathode): 3.0V to 3.5V (Typical
Operating Voltage: 3.3V). Advantages: Improved power handling, energy efficiency,
and extended lifespan.
 BLYNK
Blynk is designed for the Internet of Things (IoT) and enables remote hardware management,
sensor data display, and data storage. It is a web-based service requiring internet-capable
hardware like Arduino, ESP8266, or Raspberry Pi with Wi-Fi dongle. Blynk Server facilitates data
transfer between smartphones and hardware, is open-source, and supports multiple devices,
even running on Raspberry Pi. Blynk Libraries enable communication and command processing
for various hardware platforms. The Blynk platform includes a toolkit for building applications
with widgets, Blynk server for connecting smartphones to hardware, and Blynk libraries
supporting multiple embedded systems.

 BUZZER

Peizo electric buzzer is used for intimating the changes in this system. Buzzer is the
output module used to generate alarm. This module which converts the voltage to sound
signal. We directly connected to AURDINO processor for information.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The industrial monitor and fault detection system focuses on

detecting gas leaks of LPG, CO, and CH4, which pose health risks
and explosion hazards. Additionally, it identifies nearby flames
and motion, providing emergency alerts. Regular temperature
and humidity readings are taken to ensure optimal conditions.
This comprehensive system safeguards automated factories with
complex and costly processes, minimizing potential threats and
ensuring safety.
