INTRODUCTION

• North Nazimabad is one of the


most prominent and well-
established residential areas in
Karachi. This town is known for
its well-planned layout, diverse
communities, and vibrant
urban life. The objective of this
presentation is to evaluate the
design, functionality, and
sustainability of North
Nazimabad, focusing on urban
development, community
infrastructure, and
environmental impact.
URBAN ANALYSIS
URBAN ANALYSIS

• Grid Pattern: The area predominantly follows a grid-like


layout, which is efficient for traffic flow and land use
planning.
• Zoning: Distinct residential, commercial, and industrial
zones are evident, promoting order and reducing land
use conflicts.
• Green Spaces: The presence of green spaces
contributes to environmental quality and community
well-being.
• Infrastructure: The road network appears well-
developed, but traffic congestion may be a concern.
• Public Facilities: The Urban Resource Centre indicates
a commitment to providing essential services.
URBAN DESIGN
• Streetscape: North Nazimabad has a
well-developed grid-like road network
with wide main roads and narrower
residential streets. This design supports
smooth traffic flow and accessibility.
• Public Spaces: There are several
parks, playgrounds, and recreational
facilities like Parks , Gyms , cafe.
However, the availability of public
spaces varies between blocks.
• Community Engagement: The area
has a strong sense of community with
local unions and neighborhood
associations actively involved in
organizing events and addressing
residents' concerns.
