PROBLEM STATEMENT:-
Thus, the project aims to develop a device that would serve as a guiding assistance to
them. The project focuses on designing a device for visual impaired (or blind) people
that would help them to travel independently and also with more ease.
The main objective of this project is to provide an acoustic assistance to the blind
people and also to deal with the problems faced by them to walk like the normal
human beings.
The technology proposed here serves as a solution for visual impaired people. The
project consists of the smart shoes that alerts visually-impaired people over obstacles
coming between their ways and could help them in walking with less collision.

Arduino IDE
ARDUINO UNO :-
The Arduino UNO is an open source microcontroller board based on the microchip
ATmega328P microcontroller is developed by Arduino.cc.The board is supplied with sets of
digital and analog input and output pins that maybe interfaced to various expansion
boards(shields) and other circuits. The board consist of 14 Digital pins and 6 Analog pins.It is
programmable with the Integrated Development Environment (IDE)via a type B USB
cable. The power can be supply by a USB cable or by an external 9Volts battery, through it
excepts voltages(Power) between 7 to 12Volts.
ULTRASONIC SENSOR:-
• An ultrasonic sensor is an electronic device that measures the distance of
a target object by emitting ultrasonic sound waves, and converts the
reflected sound into an electrical signal.
• Features:-
• Power Supply: +5V DC
• Quiescent Current : <2mA
• Working Current: 15mA
• Effectual Angle: <15°
• Ranging Distance : 2cm – 400 cm/1″ – 13ft
• Resolution : 0.3 cm
• Measuring Angle: 30 degree
• Trigger Input Pulse width: 10uS
• Dimension: 45mm x 20mm x 15mm
BUZZER:-
• A buzzer or beeper is an audio signaling device, which may
be mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric (piezo for
short). Typical uses of buzzers and beepers include alarm
devices, timers, and confirmation of user input such as a mouse
click or keystroke.
BATTERY:-
An electric battery is a device which consist of 1 or more electrochemical
cells with external connections provided to power electrical devices such
as flashlights, smartphones and electric cars.
The terminal marked negative is the source of electrons that when battery
is connected to an external circuit the energy and delivered to external
device.
SWITCH:-
The development of Smart Shoes for blind people using Arduino have
various applications. Some of the applications this project include.
Navigation and Mobility: Helps users avoid obstacles, detect stairs and
curbs, and navigate unfamiliar areas.
Safety and Security: Detects falls, collisions, and hazards, sending
emergency alerts.
Social and Community: Enhances social interaction, community
navigation, and access to public services.
CONCLUSION:-
The main focus of this paper is to implement various technology in the smart
shoes for visually impaired people. The smart shoes uses the most reliable
source, light, to communicate data to the visually impaired. In future work we
will be focused on the enhancing the better performance of the system and to
reducing the load on the users.
