Introduction

 Cloud Computing is a technology that allows data

and applications to be stored, managed, and
processed over the internet rather than on local
servers or personal computers. This presentation
explores the history, types, benefits, and future
trends in cloud computing.
History of Cloud Computing

 • 1960s: Concept of time-sharing and virtualization

introduced.
 • 1990s: Rise of the internet and web-based
services.
 • 2006: Amazon launched AWS (Amazon Web
Services), revolutionizing cloud infrastructure.
 • 2010s: Rapid adoption of cloud services by
businesses and consumers.
Types of Cloud Computing

 • Public Cloud: Services provided over the public

internet, accessible to anyone.
 • Private Cloud: Cloud infrastructure dedicated to a
single organization.
 • Hybrid Cloud: A combination of public and private
clouds, allowing data and applications to be shared.
 • Community Cloud: A shared infrastructure for a
specific community or organization.
Cloud Service Models

 • IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service): Provides

virtualized computing resources over the internet.
 • PaaS (Platform as a Service): Offers hardware and
software tools over the internet, often for
application development.
 • SaaS (Software as a Service): Delivers software
applications over the internet on a subscription
basis.
 • FaaS (Function as a Service): A serverless model
where applications are broken into functions that
run in response to events.
Benefits of Cloud
Computing
 • Cost Efficiency: Reduces the need for physical
infrastructure.
 • Scalability: Easily scale resources up or down
based on demand.
 • Flexibility: Access services from anywhere with an
internet connection.
 • Disaster Recovery: Provides data backup and
recovery solutions.
 • Collaboration: Enhances collaboration through
cloud-based tools.
Challenges of Cloud
Computing
 • Security: Protecting sensitive data in a shared
environment.
 • Downtime: Potential for outages or downtime in
cloud services.
 • Compliance: Meeting regulatory and compliance
standards.
 • Vendor Lock-In: Difficulty in switching providers
due to proprietary platforms.
 • Limited Control: Less control over infrastructure
compared to on-premises systems.
Cloud Computing Trends

 • Edge Computing: Processing data closer to the

source rather than in centralized cloud data centers.
 • Multi-Cloud Strategies: Using multiple cloud
services to avoid vendor lock-in.
 • AI and Machine Learning Integration: Enhancing
cloud services with intelligent solutions.
 • Serverless Computing: Running code without
managing servers.
 • Increased Focus on Security and Privacy.
Major Cloud Providers

 • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Leader in cloud

services offering IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
 • Microsoft Azure: A major cloud platform for
enterprise solutions.
 • Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Focuses on AI,
machine learning, and big data.
 • IBM Cloud: Offers hybrid cloud solutions and AI
integration.
 • Oracle Cloud: Known for database services and
enterprise applications.
Conclusion

 Cloud Computing has transformed how we store,

access, and manage data. Its benefits of scalability,
cost-efficiency, and flexibility have made it a
cornerstone of modern technology. With ongoing
innovations in AI, edge computing, and security,
cloud computing will continue to evolve and drive
the future of digital transformation.
