    integration of language teaching
    aims with content instruction.
    What is content in CBI?

    emphasizes that
    content is any subject
    matter or topic that
    focuses on certain
    meaning with the given
    content instruction.

    order to achieve the

     Language is text and discourse based
    - - content-based instruction sees

    activities that link the skills, such as
    knowledge, language, and thinking
    skills, provide coherence and continuity
    across skill areas, and focus on the use
    of language in connected discourse.

    Theme Based Model
     Focuses on specific them of interest

     Teachers choose interesting topics

    Sheltered Based Model
     approach requiring students to
    grasp subject knowledge instead of
    language skills through speaking,
    listening, writing, translating, and
    ready training courses.
     Teacher are expected to adjust
    their teaching materials to the
    level of proficiency of their
    learners.
    Adjunct Based Model
     Anchored on two
    coordinated courses. It
    contains both a
    language and a content
    course.
     Both language teachers
    and content teacher
    should work
    collaboratively to
    achieve one good and it
    is for the learners to
    understand both the
    content and the
