Descriptive Text
A descriptive text describes the characteristics of a place or a thing. It
consists of identification (introducing an object that will be described)
and description (the characteristics of the object being described.

In a descriptive text, we often find facts and opinions.

•Facts tell us what happens and can be proven right or wrong.
e.g.: George Washington was the first President of the United States.
•Opinions refer to a personal assumption, belief, or feeling about something.
e.g.: Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.
Descriptive Text
In a descriptive text, we also often find passive sentences.
A passive sentence often occurs when we make the object of an action into
the subject of a sentence. The purpose is to show interest in the objects
rather than the subjects that perform the action.

When the tenses of the events changes, the patterns will change in the “to be”.
For example:
•This unique building was built on the coastal area. (Simple Past)
•This building is expected to attract tourists around the world. (Simple Present)
•The building will be developed into a wedding feast venue. (Present Future)
