(1) Personal Life Philosophy
(40%)
(2) Moral Development Plan
(60%)
PERSONAL LIFE
PHILOSOPHY
What’s your story? (talents, people, books, movies,
religion, key events, music, ideas). Make your story
(eulogy) dramatic, unforgettable, poetic, and
symbolic: a great love story!
● Who am I? (personal, familial, cultural, spiritual,
religious)
● How am I going to get there? (means)
● Why am I doing this? (existential meaning ,
purpose, ideals, the driving force)
Conclude with a Personal Life Philosophy
Statement that is broad enough to accomplish your
Moral Development Plan but narrow enough that it
speaks to you personally every single day.
MORAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN INTO
EFFECT
• A structured a process with the aim of
reducing the gap between your real and
ideal selves in order to map out a
straightforward approach to enhance your
moral competencies.
• You should identify what strategies will be
adopted and how you plan to actualize them
(how will they be implemented in your
personal and social life to further develop
your moral competencies).
MORAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
● Each week, choose two points from the
lecture (your class take-away: the points or
ideas that had the most impact on you) and
personalize or concretize in a story as it
relates to your personal life
● Each week, make a concrete resolution that
improves your moral competency and report
on how the practice of past resolutions is
progressing
RESOLUTIONS
• Experimenting with new behaviors
• Activities to build community both
within and outside the classroom
environment
• Breaking bad habits and developing
good habits
• Rewarding yourself for positive
change
• Creating a more positive
environment
• Developing trusting relationships
