Differential and Integral Calculus
Engr. Romeo D. Laud, Jr.
Prayer OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the students shall be able to: 1. Reviewed inverse functions. 2. Defined inverse trigonometric functions. 3. Used implicit differentiation to find derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions. Derivative of Inverse Trigonometric Functions Each of the six basic trigonometric functions have corresponding inverse functions when appropriate restrictions are placed on the domain of the original functions. All the inverse trigonometric functions have derivatives, which are summarized as follows: Derivative of a Inverse Trigonometric Functions Example: 1. y = sin-1 x3 y’ = y’ = Example: 2. y = cos-1 (7x-9) y’ = y’ = Example: 3. y = tan-1 y’ = y’ = Example: 4. y =sec-1 (x5) y’ = y’ = Example: 5. y =cos-1 (5x) y’ = y’ = Example: 6. y =tan-1 () = y’ = y’ = Example: 7. y =sin-1 (4x2) y’ = y’ =
