 Introduction

The need for agricultural production is high. The system of irrigation followed plays
a major role in the increase in agricultural production. The automation in agriculture
and IoT proposed a technique

to manage the agricultural work and helps the farmers in decision making on the
harvest depending upon

the demand in the market.

Problem Statement

Water pumping in Somalia is a significant challenge facing small-scale farmers,

particularly in rural areas. While irrigation pumping is a critical technique used to
improve crop yields and overcome water scarcity. However, there are several issues
facing farmers include the high cost of fuel and equipment can make irrigation
pumping difficult for many small-scale farmers in Somalia 4
 Purpose of the project

The purpose of this project is identifying Iot based smart agriculture monitoring based
on ardunio

 Project objectives

1)To create and develop smart doorbell calling system using Arduino IDE, pir motion
sensor ESP32cam, Solenoid lock and BLYNK application and reply.

2) To integrate an Arduino IDE module for calling and sending a Notification implement
a simple and effective approach for automatic house entrance by using a smart device
such as motion sensor that detect in actions.

3) To implement, test and evaluate the proposed prototype for the doorbell system.

5
 Project Scope

This study is a one-year project that will be developed in Mogadishu, Somalia, and
will be implemented on the rural areas in Low Shabelle region. The development of
this project is Mobile-based system with various IoT sensors and devices such as
moisture sensors, temperature sensors, and smart irrigation systems that will be
connected to a mobile application. The front end of this project will be flutter and
firebase as database back end. The scope of this project to provide training to
farmers on the use of the smart farming technology and best practices for
sustainable agriculture. This will help farmers in Somalia to adopt modern farming
practices that are environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Existing systems
A Low Cost Smart Irrigation System
Using MQTT Protocol

MQTT is the Message Queue Telemetry

Transport protocol It basically Follows
publish/subscribe architecture , and the
system consists of Three most Important
key component-Publisher, Broker, and
Subscriber The Publisher is the sensor
which is used for sensing data and sends
this data to the broker for processing
purpose and if not needed then go to the
sleep mode

IoT based Smart Irrigation System
using Soil Moisture Sensor and
ESP8266 NodeMCU
The Smart irrigation System has wide scope
to automate the complete irrigation system.
Here we are building a IoT based Irrigation
System using ESP8266 NodeMCU Module and
DHT11 Sensor. It will not only automatically
irrigate the water based on the moisture level in
the soil but also send the Data to ThingSpeak
Server to keep track of the land condition. The
System will consist a water pump which will be
used to sprinkle water on the land depending
upon the land environmental condition such as
Moisture, Temperature and Humidity. 9

 Requirement Gathering

My project needs a smart phone that has the capability to download an app from
google play store

 Preliminary Investigation

The project goals are to support with the Farmers.

 Current systems

A Low Cost Smart Irrigation System Using MQTT Protocol: is mainly to collect
the data from the sensors and send this data to the user whenever the user wants to
check the required soil moisture and water pump status

12
 Feasibility study
The problem is solvable but the implementation will be difficult and it will be a
exciting for us to solve.

 Technical feasibility
The hardware that we will use are a Arduino like Humidity and temperature
sensor, Soil Moisture, Water pump 3-6v, 5channel relay module
 Operational feasibility
The system does well in the operation process, it meets the requirements which was
to help the farmers The proposed system Smart Irrigation System is great project.

13
 Schedule feasibility
The time taken to build this project will be 4 months if not less, there are set of
challenges that will need time but the overall estimation will be three months with
features.
 Solutions
These are the solution strategy of the doorbell system:
• To know Humidity and temperature sensor,
• To know Soil Moisture, Water pump 3-6v,
