• Puberty: to become an adult and will be able to
reproduce
• Puberty starts at different ages in boys and girls.
• In girls puberty often happens from age of 11
• In boys puberty usually starts when they are 13
years old.
• Changes during puberty caused by chemicals in
the body called hormones
• Changes don’t happen all at once
Changes during puberty in girls
• The first change that you will grow very fast
(girls can grow up to 12 cm in a year)
• Body grows more hair in the armpits and
other parts of the body
• Skin becomes oily and many girls get pimples
on their skin
• Girl’s hips gets wider and will start to develop
breasts
• Voice become a little deeper
Changes during puberty in boys
• The first change that you will grow very fast
(boys can grow up to 10 cm in a year)
• Body grows more hair in the face, armpit and
other parts of the body
• Skin becomes oily and many boys get pimples
on their skin
• boy’s shoulders and chest gets broader as his
muscles develop
• Voice become deeper

• The function of the reproductive system is to make
special cells, these cells called:

• Oviduct: where fertilization take place
• Uterus: where the baby develops
