to manage a project to completion.

Project Terminology
 Project Scope description is issued by the senior level leader. They
define the project, the end result or mission of the project, what is
being delivered and who benefits.

 Statements of Work (SOW) clarifies why the project was approved,


contains the business case documents, the financial justification,
project cost and the operational details of the project.

 Project Charter is an internal team document written by the project


manager; details are in a four-block model used for the project to
proceed forward.

 Scope Creep expands the scope of project over the project’s life
cycle; scope creep is influenced by internal or external factors.
Updated in the SOW or MP

 Management Plan (MP) is written by the PM describing how the


project will be executed, monitored, controlled and closed out.
