SIP PROJECT
OBJECTIVES
• To conserve water consumption and avoid water wastage in all households
and/or establishments when a faucet is left unattended
• To call the attention of the house owners when the pail/container reaches its
maximum capacity
ABSTRACT
According to Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), there’s around 488 million
cubic meters of water a year is lost to waste, mainly in water districts outside Metro
Manila. “We are averaging about 488 million (cubic meters of water) that we throw
away yearly — that’s half of Angat Dam,” LWUA Chairman Ronnie L. Ong said in a
televised interview on Tuesday.
The LWUA oversees 532 water districts, of which 244 have significant levels of non-
revenue water (NRW). NRW includes water that is not billed or lost through leaks or
illegal connections.

INTRODUCTION AND ITS BACKGROUND
•If a water wastage alarm is installed, then it will detect and alert about water wastage, there reducing
overall water consumption.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
•In regions facing water scarcity, implementing a water wastage alarm system can play a crucial role in
conserving limited water resources.
•For households and businesses, water bills can be a significant expense.
•Minimizing water wastage contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing the strain on natural water
sources and ecosystems.
DELIMITATION STUDY
•The study will focus on a specific geographical area or regions, such as a particular city or community, due
to limitations in resources and logistics.
•The study will be conducted within a specified timeframe such as several months or years, to
accommodate data collection, experimentation and analysis.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
• LWUA-Local Water Utilities Administration
• NRW- Non-Revenue Water
