Definition of a Computer
A computer is any electronic machine or
device which under the control of a stored
program can accept and process data and
supply the results as information as output.

A computer is simply an electronic device


that is used to process data.
The Computer System

The computer system comprises of parts that


work together as a unit.
Generally, computer system is the
combination hardware and software.
The computer is also a set of electronic
devices that consist of functional hardware
and software that can be operated by trained
users.
The Computer System
Computers can quickly and flawlessly execute
commnads by following instructions from both the
computer programmer and user.

The computer system is divided into three components


namely:

1. Hardware components,
2. Software components and
3. Peopleware components.
Hardware components
These are parts of the computer system we can see
with our eyes and touch. They include: system unit,
keyboard, mouse, etc.

The various hardware components are: Input,


processing and output units.
